NUR Label

About

An impartial point of reference, independent of the transaction.

Why a label?

Buying a used vehicle still too often relies on scattered information: a roadworthiness test with its legal scope, mileage history, administrative documents and plain statements by the seller. Each of these is useful, but none brings together, in a single lasting file, the vehicle’s physical identity, its electronic data, its documents and the available sources.

Legal obligations, such as the roadworthiness test or the Car-Pass in Belgium, each have their own purpose. Commercial labels, for their part, are generally backed by a brand, a network or the seller itself. What is missing is an impartial point of reference, independent of the transaction: a third party that does not sell the vehicle and that says clearly what was verified, and what was not.

That is the gap NUR Label sets out to fill.

What NUR Label is

NUR Label is the new independent private label for vehicle verification. Depending on the mode chosen, its protocol cross-references physical, electronic and document checks with the Belgian and European sources available. Each intervention is tied to a permanent Unique Reference Number, which follows the vehicle over time.

Trust is built through method, evidence and traceability.

How the idea was born

NUR Label was born in the field. Its founder worked for years in the automotive sector. There he saw vehicles gather all the right documents and pass the usual checks, without anyone verifying that the car really was the one on the papers.

The observation is simple: what is verified on the vehicle and what is verified in the databases are almost always two separate worlds. It is by cross-referencing the two that anomalies appear.

For five years, the project was devoted to studying vehicle fraud and gaps in traceability, in order to build a structured method. The year 2026 was used to fine-tune the protocol.

NUR Label puts forward a method: what should inspire trust is what is verified, dated and written down.

Where the project stands

The service is not yet open. Opening in January 2027, everywhere in Belgium, for cars and vans. The timetable then provides for the Benelux and France in 2028, then the European Union country by country from 2029. These dates are targets, subject to change.

What NUR Label is not

NUR Label is a private label: not an official label, not a public approval, not BELAC-accredited at this stage. It replaces neither the roadworthiness test nor the Car-Pass, and it does not sell vehicles.
